I do the same, but search really sucks.
I miss Delicious, and tag based org.
I use Google for this. It's really annoyingly good at finding previously visited pages.
1. I'm interested in the economics of this vs helicopters. Why would someone buy one? Is it cheaper? Faster? More energy efficient per mile?
2. Hydrogen fuel cells drive an electric motor, no combustion needed. Battery weight seems to be a huge factor for VTOL. Hydrogen drones can easily fly for hours for example.
Also what about safety? Helicopters can be landed even in case of power failure.
Leveraged unhedged trading, especially when done by unprofessional investors, leads to financial ruin sooner or later.

1. We already have VTOLs - helicopters. How do the economics of this compares to helicopters?
2. Surely hydrogen is a better fuel source for VTOL?

This will finally make me seriously consider moving back to iPhones. I'm simply not willing to give up being able to charge my Android phone, M1 laptop, headphones, vape, shaver, oculus, etc with the same cable. I travel with 1 cable. It's life changing.
I don't recall owning a computer that was too slow to run Photoshop.
4k video editing - I admit is a valid use case, not something I've ever had to do. But I doubt most people buying these are video editors.
Someone please explain to me why I need so much power. Can't even run ML on these. More browser tabs?
I miss my 100Mhz IBM PC with 16 MBs of RAM & Visual Studio.
You are right, to be precise it was 1997 and I believe my 100 Mhz IBM PC was the 340 model which actually has 16 MBs of RAM. Running Windows 95/98, Visual Studio, 3D Studio Max, Photoshop, Cubase, etc.
Point still stands, you don't need 8 GBs.
Last time I used Eclipse, it took 8GBs of RAM. Have things changed?
Amazon is now a collection of businesses, including:
- AWS - Amazon Ads - FBA - Marketplace
This is in order of profitability. It seems that Amazon doesn't care much about the Marketplace itself.
It's hard to imagine that 20 years ago Delphi and Visual Basic had far superior IDEs and debugging experience running on my 100 MHz IBM PC with 512MB of RAM.
I'm not sure where the ecosystem went wrong, but it's strangely related to the web.

As far as I know search ranking on Google is largely driven by AI these days, which requires a LOT of historical click data (query + answer pairs). Because Google has more historical data than anyone it has better results. I don't see how you can have better ranking without the same dataset to train a new model. Indexing the web is not the hard part.
