>Why do people talk about minor inconveniences as if they were life threatening.
probably one talks that way about minor inconveniences if:
1. There are a lot of them all piled up - thereby leading to more inconvenience than you could reasonably handle
2. One is going through something else at the moment that is very problematic which then means you don't have the psychic reservoir to deal with the minor inconvenience
3. Perhaps it is a minor inconvenience for most people but is worse for you because you have some other major inconvenience or condition in your life that the otherwise minor one exacerbates.
>"last bit before the climate went tits up"
indeed, Great tits could be wiped out by climate change in the near future https://nypost.com/2020/11/11/great-tits-could-be-wiped-out-... (first line: We mean the birds, dirtbags.)
>So just because you can remove screws more easily you build better shelves?
probably you build the same quality shelves slightly faster, being able to build things faster allows you to learn faster, by not focusing mental and physical energy on the relatively stupid task of removing screws you have more mental and physical energy to focus on things that maybe actually help you build better shelves.
A lot of the badness of the apps however is somewhat business driven, dark patterns etc.
you don't, you give them the maximum fine and they go out of business. If they don't pay the fine they are criminals, they get removed from platforms they are on.
>Apps will use near-field communication technology and other mechanisms to track us
Ok, well, the EU mandates opening up this tech to apps, some apps then violate GDPR in various ways leading to big fines for those apps.
Now someone is going to say fines with GDPR have not been big enough, but I think they are slowly increasing (because really that is typical gov. policy, don't go in with big fines, start small, and later when hitting big you can say but we have been very reasonable), and also, just maybe the fines for people moving into a new field with predatory tracking from the get-go will get the big fines and be shut down quick.
I thought Apple was the more profitable platform however, also to develop for, which would imply that anti-competitive practices could deform the market because developers would be forced to bow to Apple since that is where the largest part of their profits would be coming from?

context is everything, reading that I thought it would be hilariously funny as an exchange in Father Ted.
if instead of checkout you had a bunch of separate functions you think you would remember those?
Someone could probably make an argument that commands should be overloaded even more - clone, pull, and checkout could be merged for most of their common operations - as an example. Note: I am not necessarily for this but I'm not necessarily against it either.
agree --patch is weird.
Thanks!
I suppose for it to work the different apps still have to allow drag and drop?
So your monetization would be superusers paying for this app to allow them to do this kind of thing, can you already do it via copy and paste operations?
