This really grabbed my attention - I fear big tech is pushing American morals down the throat of the rest of the world. This is great that they’re noticing this and trying to correct for it!
In my opinion you've already got a job at Microsoft - and I imagine a decent amount of savings then. If things go bad you'll still have those skills and you'll be able to get another highly paid job in corporate. I strongly disagree that startups are like corporate. Startups don't have all the red tape which allows you to move very quickly which I personally find very satisfying!
Will house prices ever stop making sense?

Why is the 4 day week always talked about but never the 9 day fortnight? I feel like that would be far easier to pull off

I see it as talking about skill set not renumeration. The skill set differs from a normal engineer as it’s better to have a large breadth of knowledge and there’s more of an expectation to work hard and have a lot of ownership. In Australia it seems like the going rate of equity for early engineers is south of 5% and if you get in truly early stage then what you said makes sense.
Can’t believe no one has mentioned Acquired! The episode on Standard Oil is extremely good https://www.acquired.fm/episodes/standard-oil-part-i
There’s an episode on Acquired with him where he talks about FTX. Would definitely recommend!
Definitely an interesting read but I'm surprised he doesn't even approach the notion of asset price inflation being the primary form of inflation from all this money printing that's been going on.
It's the Amazon playbook. They charge what they think will be profitable 5 years in the future and pay their way through until they can profitably support that price.
Awesome work! This looks great!
One feature I would love to see is the ability to upload multiple audio clips at the same time. That would differentiate you from the competition
Funnily enough I was about to start building this then found descript[1]. It transcribes the text and allows you to edit the transcription then export it as audio.
This book https://www.bookdepository.com/Life-Is-Tough-But-So-Are-You-... has a ton of great recommendations coming from someone who has cancer.
The main thing is just showing up and doing little things that will be helpful - like clean their place if it’s messy, make them a few meals, talk with them, etc
I was tempted then saw it costs $15 and immediately decided I’d never pay for this.
If you’re targeting it as a browser why aren’t you just planning on getting to the size where Google pays you to be the default search engine?
Audible or conferences
Damn awesome work! Out of curiosity do you have paying customers yet? I was working on a similar thing in this niche and found it hard to find customers who were willing to pay
Aren’t China incentivised to keep running these businesses? Why the doomsday sentiment?
Do you have a source for this?
Fun fact: a collection of jugglers is called a neverthriving.
