Shame your Ask HN did not get traction. Might be worth posting it again. It is a bit of a lottery on here.

Interesting. Wonder if in some cases this negative trait actually leads to success....

Great news for the real estate sector.
I actually built an open source project for scraping real estate websites several years ago: https://github.com/RealEstateWebTools/property_web_scraper
Might be time to go back and update it ;)
I sent a few messages myself. Didn't get any replies but it is such an easy thing to do that I see no harm it trying it.
Even if it takes 10,000 messages to make 1 person change their mind it would be worth it for me.

So why is this not on the front page. I don't quite understand.
Crawling with ads. Unusable :(
This is awesome! Awesome enough that I actually don't mind that it has ads. I checked out my project (https://www.libhunt.com/etewiah/property_web_builder ) and even though the alternatives were not bang-on, there is a button to suggest alternatives so the results can be improved.
What I really like though are the mentions. I'll keep coming back to that page if only to keep an eye on where my project is getting mentioned.
Really nice idea!! I started building a product for creating single property pages over a year ago. One of the things I got asked was a way to use it to manage tasks / inventories for a home. At the time I was not able to implement that but I'm now thinking of going back to do that.
In the meantime I open sourced it so people can add functionality and take it in the direction they want.
This was the feedback I got on hacker news when I first discussed it:
There has got to be a big market opportunity for people who create "wordpress for xxxx" - alternatives for different sectors.
The sector where WordPress gets "mis-used" most is real estate. It really isn't designed for that usecase: https://smallbusinessforum.co/why-an-alternative-to-wordpres...

Just adding the word log4shell so people searching for that keyword find this more easily.
Hi, I think it is great that you are making the effort to open source your project. I did the same with a real estate website builder I created:
https://github.com/etewiah/property_web_builder
It was a lot of work but I now have a small stream of people who contact me every so often about it.
BTW, you seem like a smart guy and I am looking for someone to work with me on a relaunch of the project as a paid product. I have learnt a lot in the years since my first attempt so I think I have a pretty decent chance of success this time round.
Thanks, will give that a go. There must be some way to alert google too right? It is pretty bad that they serve it up as a legitimate search result. You would expect the real github to be recognized and any other duplicate flagged automatically as fake.

Very nice!!!
Care to share a bit about the tech stack?
BTW, this is the project I am referring to:
https://github.com/pyxo-dev/vint
It is not mine and of course I will add a star shortly because it deserves it but I am blown away that I would be the first to recognise what a great project it is.

You rock dude!!
I see you made some submissions that didn't get a lot of traction. HN sucks like that - sometimes you need someone else to give your project visibility. Hope you get some well deserved publicity now.
