Me too.
Sysinternal's "pskill csrss" used to be my last resort to reboot remote or local desktops and VMs. Saved my ass many times.
Nice. The library, used book stores and Blockbuster video were some of our favorites, especially when the weather was bad.
I was unemployed for 10 months in 1998, so my kids were both under 10. My now nearly 30 year old asked me yesterday to go to the zoo like we did back then. Washington DC area had (has?) lots of free things to do. They both remember fishing, hiking, biking, exploring public transportation and just spending time together.
Pre-covid, I would often go to McDonalds and order two Sausage McMuffin with Egg. If you keep your receipts and fill out the online survey, they were buy one get one free. So, $2.12 with tax for 2 English muffins, 2 sausage patties and 2 eggs.
I would write employee names on the receipt and give glowing reviews of individuals. Apparently, managers would read the reviews aloud to their teams, so I got creative.
I recently looked up a lawyer that I used a decade ago. Seems he was convicted of a federal crime and disbarred. He is now a judge.
I have been following my version of low carb\keto for 17 months. I'm down 80 lbs from 325 lbs.
I eat lots of eggs, meat and leafy greens. I use a breathalyzer to track ketones and blood test strips for glucose.
My lab results at 3, 6 and 14 months show improvement. My A1C is back below diabetic levels.
My father died at 68. I'm almost 67, so I want to find what works for me.
Agreed. The entire site reminds me of the racks of magazines I browsed growing up. Lots of bait, but in the end just a bunch shallow articles and lots of ads.
I often learn more reading HN comments than the article that is being discussed.
I use Firefox bookmarks too and sync so new devices are easy to setup. The "Bookmark search plus 2" add on allows you to search folder names and shows which folder a bookmark is stored in.
CPAP and retirement.
I bought my 6P new and still use it with a JetDirect box. Over the years, I saved another 6P from the bulk trash in my neighborhood and recently picked up a 6MP off Craigslist free. Both have a lower page count than my original and usable toner cartridges.
I read your post. Most, 90% or more, of the spam in my Verizon/AOL/Yahoo Spam folder is from gmail servers per Spamcop, but Spamcop sends the reports to google-abuse-bounces-reports@devnull.spamcop.net, which I guess means Google does not want to see the reports. I forward the emails to abuse@google.com because it makes me feel better:)

I bought a Whirlpool washer and dryer set in 1982 based on Consumer Reports testing. In 2017, I replaced the washer with a Speed Queen. It was recommended by a friend who owns a few rental houses. The Whirlpool dryer is still running.
Anyone else use Consumer Reports?
I agree and plan to buy a Kill A Watt P4460 meter. My HPE Gen 9 servers were free, but I still would like to know the operating cost of a single server.
I had vinyl siding installed and some wood trim painted on the exterior of my house in 1985. The leftover oil-based paint is stored in my crawl space, which has no direct heat or air conditioning. I used some of the paint in 2021 to touch-up the wood trim and then put the can back in the crawl space.
I paid $75 for a Samsung LN46A650 (46" LCD) in 2019 to replace a Philips HD CRT. Since, I have bought two more ($50 and $20). So, I use two and have one as a backup or parts. All from Craigslist. I also have picked up three LN46A550 ($20 total) on CL with minor problems.
I just want to look for ways to contribute to the lives of my family, friends and community. Both of my jobs were 50+ hours per week minimum and 1 hour daily commute. I missed a lot over years, and in the end I traded time with family for financial security. I wish I had worked just a little less and been better about leaving time and energy for others.
After 25 years in electronics manufacturing (< 30 employees, factory closed)and 12 years in IT (>250,000 employees, site closed), looking for a job at 55, I just refused to jump thru hoops and put up with BS. That was 10 years ago and I have no regrets.
